RASPO Live! is a Black History Month event celebrating the 25th anniversary of award winning steel orchestra – RASPO

From humble beginnings at the Central Club home to the iconic Black History Mural, Reading All Steel Percussion Orchestra came into existence in 1997, named in honour of TASPO – Trinidad All Steel Percussion Orchestra who was the first steel band to perform live in the UK at the South Bank’s 1951 Festival of Britain.

The orchestra is now an award winning outfit with a many prestigious performances of note from appearing at the London 2012 Olympics, and at The Royal Albert Hall to taking part in the London Notting Hill Carnival procession of floats.
