3rd Annual Community Anti-Racism Conference 2026

Thursday 22nd October 2026

Black and Orange Gradient Scholarship Program A5 - 1

The 3rd Annual Community Anti-Racism Conference returns to Horsham this October, bringing together community leaders, professionals, educators, students, volunteers and local residents for a day dedicated to learning, dialogue and positive action. Organised by VOT Community Conferences CIC, the free event has become an important annual gathering for those committed to creating fairer, safer and more inclusive communities through collaboration, education and meaningful engagement.

Taking place during Black History Month 2026, this year’s conference embraces the national theme “Honouring Our Communities”, recognising the importance of celebrating the people, organisations and grassroots initiatives that strengthen neighbourhoods across the UK. The programme will encourage participants to reflect on the value of community, build new relationships and explore practical ways to promote inclusion and tackle discrimination in everyday life.

Throughout the day, delegates will take part in a series of interactive workshops, presentations and panel discussions covering key aspects of anti-racist practice. Sessions will examine commonly misunderstood terminology, explore lived experiences of racism and discrimination, and provide practical case studies that participants can apply within their own workplaces, schools, organisations and communities. The emphasis is firmly on creating constructive conversations that inspire long-term change rather than simply raising awareness.

Since its launch, the Community Anti-Racism Conference has established a reputation for bringing together people from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors. Whether attendees work in education, healthcare, local government, policing, business, the voluntary sector or simply wish to become more active within their own communities, the conference provides an inclusive environment where ideas can be shared openly, experiences respected and new partnerships formed.

Organised by VOT Community Conferences CIC, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to building stronger and more cohesive communities, the event continues to grow in both reach and impact. By encouraging honest discussion, promoting understanding and equipping participants with practical tools for everyday life, the conference aims to support lasting cultural change long after the event has finished.

With attendance free of charge but places limited, early booking is recommended. The 3rd Annual Community Anti-Racism Conference 2026 promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking day, bringing people together to celebrate Black History Month while exploring how each of us can contribute to communities where everyone is respected, valued and able to thrive.
