Commons Ties 12

Fri, November 13, 2020 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM GMT

Common Ties is an annual event celebrating and promoting Caribbean heritage and culture. At its core is honouring the continuing relevance and value of proverbs as a symbol of enduring wisdom and life guidance, as exemplified through the ‘Things Mama Used To Say’ gift cards. The proverbs are brought to life through stories of everyday people bringing about simple yet powerful transformations in their lives, inspired by the wisdom and humour woven into this distinct form of cultural expression.

A range of guest contributions, performances, and presentations entertain, enthuse, and enthrall, whilst also helping to reaffirm those “Common Ties” which bound together our parents, grandparents, and ancestors across nations and continents throughout history, and continue to serve us today.
