Belonging – Perspectives of Intersectionality with Dame Elizabeth Anionwu

Tuesday 25th October

Celebrate Black History Month with the University of Manchester’s BAME Network and special guest Dame Elizabeth Anionwu.

Exploring the key theme of “Belonging – Perspectives of Intersectionality” the BAME Network will be in conversation with Dame Elizabeth Nneka Anionwu (joining us via Zoom), taking questions from in the room and our virtual room, all in celebration of Black History Month.

Dame Elizabeth is a celebrated nurse and healthcare activist. The co-founder of the first-ever Centre for Sickle Cell Anaemia sufferers in the UK, she successfully co-led the campaign to erect a statue of Mary Seacole in London in 2016.

The conversation with Dame Elizabeth will be followed by a chance to network with colleagues over a diversified campus buffet with a menu inspired by black culinary heritage.
