(C4A) CIC Presents – The Journery So Far: Dinner & Dance

Saturday 25 October

Based on real events, Sing Sing tells the powerful story of Divine G, a man incarcerated for a crime he did not commit.

While serving his sentence at Sing Sing prison, he discovers unexpected purpose through joining a theatre group made up of other incarcerated men. Together, they stage an original comedy, finding healing, connection, and creativity in the most unlikely of places.

Directed by Greg Kwedar, the film stars John H. Richardson, Brent Buell, and Clint Bentley. With authenticity and sensitivity, Sing Sing sheds light on resilience, friendship, and the redemptive power of art behind prison walls. It is both moving and thought-provoking, offering a rare glimpse into lives too often silenced.

This special screening will take place with doors opening at 7.00pm, followed by a short introduction. The feature film begins promptly at 7.05pm and runs for 1 hour 47 minutes. A Q&A session will follow at 8.55pm, concluding at 10.00pm. Please note that admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The film has been rated 15 and contains mature themes, making it unsuitable for young children. Audience discretion is advised.

Commissioned by Tower Hamlets Council, the programme is supported by Film London and is proud to be part of the BFI Film Audience Network, funded by the National Lottery. This promises to be an evening of powerful cinema and meaningful discussion.
