Hosted by BBC Radio 2 presenters Trevor Nelson and DJ Spoony, this special event brings together leading musicians and vocalists for an evening that celebrates the sounds that have shaped generations.

At the heart of the performance is the acclaimed Chineke! Orchestra, joined by the LJ Singers under the direction of Chris Cameron, alongside guest artists including Alison Limerick, Elisabeth Troy, Rhoda Dakar and legendary saxophonist Courtney Pine.

The programme spans over five decades of Black British musical innovation, featuring a vibrant mix of funk, soul, lover’s rock, 2-tone, jazz and UK garage. Presented by BBC Music in collaboration with the V&A East Museum, the event forms part of a wider national programme recognising the contribution of Black British music to the UK’s cultural identity.
