Prior to the evening performance, Carmen and Theo will give a free workshop in the Visitors Book Café exploring Portuguese-speaking music.

The Workshop sheds a light into the rich and diverse music history of the Cape Verdean Islands located just off the coast of Senegal. Carmen Souza with her long time musical partner Theo Pascal have created a unique and acclaimed sound that mixes the music and dialect of Cabo Verde to Jazz. Though audience participation and interaction, you will discover the composition dynamics behind their music and its cultural links.
