About this Event

The Yung Afrika Pyoneers will intoxicate you with their delicious Afro grooves. Get ready to dance the night away!

Inspired by Marcus Garvey, Kwame Nkrumah formed the first Young African Pioneer movement in Ghana in the 60’s to promote Pan-African ideology among the youth. This ideology was adopted by Fela Kuti and he subsequently formed a manifestation of the Young African Pioneers in his sovereign home, Kalakuta Republic, in the 70’s.

Developing the message of the original Young African Pioneers, taking the spirit of Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey and Fela Kuti and applying it to a post-afrobeat, post-truth world, using the popular music forms of Africa and beyond to forge a new ideological direction for a new generation.
