Black Book Festival and Education Expo 2026

Saturday 24 October 2026

The Black Book Festival and Education Expo returns in 2026 as one of the UK’s leading celebrations of Black literature, publishing, education and cultural achievement. Hosted at Goldsmiths, University of London, the festival brings together authors, publishers, educators, booksellers, students and readers for a day dedicated to learning, creativity and community engagement.

The event showcases a wide range of books, educational resources, publishing initiatives and community projects that highlight the contributions and achievements of African and Caribbean communities. Visitors can discover new authors, meet publishers, browse book displays and engage with organisations working to promote literacy, education and cultural awareness.

Running alongside the festival, the Education Expo provides opportunities for teachers, students and education professionals to explore innovative approaches to learning and curriculum development. The event also highlights projects designed to support educational opportunities both in the United Kingdom and internationally.

Throughout the day, attendees can participate in panel discussions, author talks, publishing workshops, networking sessions and book launches. The festival creates a welcoming environment where readers, writers and educators can connect, share ideas and celebrate the power of literature and learning.

The Black Book Festival and Education Expo has established itself as an important annual event, promoting diverse voices within publishing while encouraging reading, creativity and educational excellence. Open to people of all ages and backgrounds, it offers an inspiring opportunity to discover new perspectives, celebrate cultural achievement and engage with a vibrant literary community.
