You are warmly invited to integrate with our residents and have the most fun you’ll have had for a long time at our Open Afternoon. Games, entertainment, mingling and our award-winning cupcakes await.
The Home is a 48 hour immersive theatre experience – the Open Afternoon offers a taster within the big show.
This is one of four 90 minute performances, taking place within The Home. You will be interacting with those taking part in the full experience, and all of the performers, but for a shorter burst. This is a stand-alone experiences – you don’t need to know what has happened before for it to make sense (although we are sure some of our participants will be desperate to tell you).
It’s theatre where you join in. It’s entertainment and it might make you think about ageing and vulnerability in a way you haven’t before.
Sunday afternoon and it’s the finale of the durational performance: the people who have signed up for the whole experience of The Home will have been residents for almost 48 hours. Come and find out whether they have they bonded as a group, whether they’ve enjoyed being cared for and how the experience of being looked after made them feel about their own vulnerability.
Come for cupcakes, expect surprises. See if our residents are getting used to the delights of having all their needs met by an efficient team of carers, activity coordinators and management, and if they’re also getting used to having their freedoms limited. As a ticket holder for this performance you will see how the whole show is set up and have your chance to influence the outcome of the event.
