Saturday 28th January

Memory and Journaling workshop with Jackie Bailey

A lover of literature and a keen advocate of arts for wellbeing, Jackie Bailey is the Manchester City of Literature Community Champion for the Windrush NHS Stories initiative. An esteemed life coach, innovative and creative practitioner, Jackie, founder of BEE You! Personal Development Ltd, is passionate about helping people to improve their wellbeing by using journaling as a personal development and self-care tool. Jackie is a Visiting Teaching Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Journaling our lived experiences, personal, family and other shared stories and memories will be the focus of the session. There will be open discussion and a safe space to practice:

    • Different types of journaling
    • Approaches to reflective journaling
    • Focused reflective journaling
    • Revisiting and exploring memories through journaling
    • A memory or memories as journaling prompts

Participants will leave having created a Windrush NHS stories journaling piece, capturing their reflections and memories. They will also be equipped with tools to commence or enhance journaling practice.
