Caribbean Stories – writing poetry workshop

Have you wanted to share your experience of being a member of the Windrush community and defendants but not sure where to start?

As we commemorate the arrival of the ship called the Windrush, we want to encourage story telling from the Windrush Caribbean community, on the topic:

‘ What my Windrush experience and heritage means to me’

On the 22nd June our poetry competition launches and our Caribbean Stories workshop will help you to craft your entry. We want to encourage a range of entries from anyone aged 18 and over.

On 25th June our workshop will be delivered by Desree , a London and Slough based poet and writer. Find out more about Desree and her work @dezziiee / www.iamdesree.co.uk

The competition opens on 22nd June and closes on 19th July.

To enter you can:

submit a written poem (no longer than 1 side of A4) to jocelyn@throughadifferentlens.co.uk

OR

Create a video (no more than 3 minutes long) and email jocelyn@throughadifferentlens.co.uk for transfer details
