LIFTED – celebrating black female success

Wednesday 20 October 2021

Join us and celebrate the success of black females, by hearing about the experiences of a woman at the top of her field.

For our Black History Month event, we are celebrating everything that black women are and can be, by hearing from an accomplished woman who has climbed to the top of an unusual field, and is a beacon of success.

Barbara Bray is a TEDx speaker and director of her own consultancy, Alo Solutions Ltd, delivering food safety and developing sustainable nutrition strategies for food businesses.

A Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition, she has an MSc in Human Nutrition. She is a Fellow of the Institute for Food Science and Technology (IFST) with a BSc in Food Technology and an MSc in Postharvest Technology.

The Co-Chair of the Oxford Farming Conference, trustee of the Nutrition Society and 2017 Nuffield Farming Scholar, Barbara is passionate about diet and food. She was awarded an MBE in 2019 for services to food and nutrition.

Barbara will discuss her life and work, and we’ll hear about her successes and challenges, and how she rose. We’ll learn more about what it takes to rise up, and as usual in our events, there’s sure to be lively discussion!
