About this Event
The Free Black Women’s Library is a literary social art project that features a collection of over two thousand books written by Black women. The library pops up monthly in various spaces throughout difference spaces, each month we focus on a different book, theme or author. The library invites all to trade books with the collection as well as take part in the monthly programming, workshops and activities.
In lieu of Corona virus all our monthly in person programming has been shut down so we are experimenting with taking things to the digital space. Starting with a discussion of part 1 of Octavia Butler’s highly relevant iconic series,
Parable of the Sower
Sign up to be a part of the conversation, which features professor and scholar, Dr. Ayana Jamieson, founder of the Octavia E Butler Legacy Network.
We will discuss the book and why it feels so relevant to this moment, and what can we learn from it.
