Free talk and night of Black history and Southwark Archives Films
Come and join us to celebrate our rich and diverse community during Black History Month and watch a collection of BME films from the Southwark History Library archives and listen to an informative talk on our shared heritage.
A number of Southwark residents, including Peckham GP Dr Harold Moody, helped found and sustain the League of Coloured Peoples, the most influential civil rights organisation of the interwar period. Join borough archivist Dr Patricia Dark to explore the history of Southwark’s pre-Windrush Black community.
