Gateshead History Festival 2021 African Lives in Northern England

Dr Beverley Prevatt Goldstein shares her interest in disseminating accurate information on the achievements of black individuals and civilisations, including coordinating a calendar, resources for schools and a booklet on the topic. Her talk introduces some of the complex stories behind the individuals briefly addressed in African Lives in Northern England such as Frederick Douglas, Ida B. Wells and Paul Robeson.
