It was an honour to kick off this PRS Presents event marking African History Month UK 2020 with a brief history of the British African classical music composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and to highlight his links with the formation of PRS.

As the co-ordinator of the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor 100PM Collective, which highlighted SC-T history during the centenary of the death of the composer, we were glad that we were instrumental in getting the BTWSC NARM Role Model image of SC-T mounted in the old PRS boardroom at Berners Street. 6 years on, we get to kick off the PRS event telling today’s songwriters and musicians about a British composer, who was a global superstar at the turn of the 20th century – we’re talking on the level of the likes of The Beatles, Spice Girls or Bob Marley!!

Enjoy the video, and make time to find out more about Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
