Trainers from Wikimedia UK will give an overview of Wikipedia editing, why it is important and help you get started. If you like learning about and contributing to the recording of Black history in your community then this is a great place to get involved.
We will be working with Wikimedia UK for this edit-a-thon, to write about and enhance articles about Black people, history and culture. You can use the session to explore Lambeth Archives collections, our library service’s online subscriptions to packages like the British Newspaper Archive and Who’s Who and much more! We will also look at Wikimedia Commons and how you can use photographs and images. Bring along a laptop or use our computers in the Archives. In partnership with Wikimedia UK.
