OUTing the Past festival – LGBT+ History Month @ Stockport Central Library

Stockport Libraries, Stockport LGBT+ Plus, The Proud Trust & Nexus are delighted to be joining in with the OUTing the Past festival which brings an amazing array of presentations covering all aspects of LGBT+ history. We welcome 4 speakers to Stockport Central Library.
1. Sacha Coward discussing LGBT+ themes in video games.
2. Rachel Larman: Telling stories: oral history highlights from the West Yorkshire Queer Stories collection.
3. Rosie Adamson Clark shares her film: “Nan to the Rescue” A lesbian teenagers’ coming out story, in the 80’s. A difficult time but she has an ally in Nan.
4. Lois Stone brings us their research on the inclusion of the history of the trans community in museums.

Their PhD centers on how British museums have worked on including trans people both into exhibits and as part of the process of exhibit creation. A warm welcome is assured. The event is free and fully accessible. there will be brews, biscuits and cakes galore, to share together. The Library is close to great bus & train
