DUTCHAVELLI

East London-based singer-songwriter Stephan Allen was born in Birmingham – to parents of Jamaican and Trinidadian heritage – but raised in Rotterdam, which led to his stage name Dutchavelli and the nickname Dutch.

He and his five siblings (one of whom is Stefflon Don) grew up listening to the likes of Buju Banton, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley, and they were always encouraged to perform. Shortly after Dutch’s family returned to the UK, he burst onto the rap scene with the 2016 single New Jack City, followed by three more tracks that showcased his rugged vocals: Let It Breathe, LOL and Speeding.

Unfortunately, a couple of stints in prison beginning at the age of 17 put his fledgling career on hold. Dutch returned to music in a big way in early 2020 with the release of two hit singles: Only If You Knew and Surely.

In September 2020, two more hot tracks followed, Bando Diaries and Bando Diaries Remix featuring Onefour, Kekra, Noizy and Devine. Led by the single Cool With Me featuring M1LLIONZ, Dutchavelli’s eagerly awaited mixtape Dutch From The 5th arrived on 4 November 2020.

“I’ve left no stone unturned and worked as hard as I possibly can to make sure I can deliver within the expectations I’ve set for myself,” he said. “I’m from E5, Clapton, and this is my introduction to the game. I’m Dutch From The 5th. That’s the title of my book opening.”

On 9 November 2020, Dutchavelli announced The Live Tour in support of his new mixtape, crisscrossing the UK from 17 – 28 May 2021.
