Andrew Rye, Development Manager at WMFB, will be introducing their current conservation project: the repair of Christ Church Cathedral, Zanzibar, built in 1879 on the site of the last permanent slave market in East Africa, and the creation of an educational centre to raise awareness of the abolition of slavery. The evening includes the opportunity to visit ‘Zanzibar’s Story’ and all four floors of Johnson’s Georgian townhouse, including our current exhibit, ‘Johnson, Barber and Thoughts of Liberty.’
