A Taste of Black-Scottish Culture brings food, music, heritage and community together for a special Black History Month celebration in Aberdeen.
Hosted by Eve’s Yummy Bites, the evening celebrates Black-Scottish identity and the communities that have made Scotland their home while maintaining connections with African, Caribbean and other cultural traditions.
Black history in Scotland is a story stretching across centuries, encompassing migration, trade, empire, education, activism, family life and the development of increasingly diverse communities across the country.
Contemporary Black-Scottish identity adds another chapter to that history, reflecting the experiences of people who identify strongly with Scotland while also drawing on family heritage and traditions from elsewhere in the world.
Food provides a particularly powerful way of sharing those histories. Recipes, flavours and cooking traditions can carry memories between generations while creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to come together.
Alongside food, the event will celebrate Black-Scottish heritage through music, culture and community in the elegant surroundings of Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel.
Taking place towards the close of Black History Month 2026, the event provides Aberdeen audiences with an opportunity to celebrate Scotland’s growing cultural diversity while recognising the Black communities contributing to Scottish life today.
