Bangla Brummies

Sunday 24th April

Bangla Brummies begins in the 1970s, with a group of Bangladeshi bachelors living together in a cramped house in Small Heath, Birmingham. We then fast forward to 2010, to visit an extended Asian family, living in a similarly cramped house, in the same area. Lots of things appear to have changed in the lives of Asians in Small Heath in the last forty years. But have they really?

Bangla Brummies is a new play full of satire, dreams and fantasies. The production dissects serious issues and uses comedy to look at the lives of Asian immigrants and celebrates their lives in Birmingham. Performed in English.
