Interactive Windrush 75th Anniversary Concert

Mark the Windrush 75th Anniversary with a celebration concert from The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and special guest Trevor Brown.

 

This interactive performance from members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra features a special guest appearance from Trevor Brown, musician, composer and Pioneer Trojan Music Ambassador of the Windrush generation.

The concert includes a new song written by Trevor to mark the 75th Anniversary of Windrush (suitable for all ages).

About Trevor Brown:

Trevor Brown aka Trevor Starr was born in Kingston Jamaica, and is a self taught musician.

Trevor came to the UK by the request of Trojan Record Company, and the Jamaican government, for the development and promotion of reggae music in the UK.

Since then Trevor has played and toured with numerous reggae artists like… Jimmy Cliff, Cimerons, Dennis Brown, Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley, Max Romeo, Pioneers , Toots and the Maytals, The Mighty Diamonds, Typically Tropical and many more.

The arrival of the ship HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury docks in 1948, bringing more than 800 passengers from the Caribbean, is a moment that shaped modern Britain. On 22 June 2023 we will mark its 75th anniversary.
