African History Tours at the British Museum: Nile Valley Civilisations

Sunday 9th July

The aim of this unique blended learning course is to introduce students to the Nile Valley Civilisations and one of its main writing systems, Metu Neter/hieroglyphs.

 

The course is divided into two parts, an online 1.5 hour session that explains the hieroglyphic/Metu Neter writing system and the second part which is a live two hour tour of the British Museum under the guidance of the educationalist and author, David Simon.

The tour and online presentation is based on the book, How to Unlock Your Genius Using Black History.

The online presentations will take place on Friday evening 7pm, 30th June 2023 and the live tour will take place on Sunday 12pm – 2pm, 9th July 2023.

Course components:

  • Part 1 – A 1.5 hour online introduction to hieroglyphs/Metu Neter
  • Part 2 – A live 2 hour British Museum tour, focusing on the three Nile Valley Civilisations, Kush, Nubia and Ancient Egypt (Kamit).

Cost

Part 1 only, free (online).

Part 1 £20 (This ticket allows you to attend live tour at the British Museum)

Children above the age of 11 – 16 years (must be accompanied by an adult) can attend for £8.00.
