Young Black Men Celebration Event

Tuesday 16 November 2021

This past summer, young Black leaders in Hackney participated in and facilitated two Design Challenges with their peers. As a group, they explored the challenges linked to young Black men’s mental health and designed solutions which would address the gaps they identified in existing provision.

A partnership effort between Shoreditch Trust, TSIP, and Hackney CVS, funded by the City and Hackney Wellbeing Network, this event will mark the culmination of a journey to co-design a new project, empowering young black men to not only participate, but also to lead, facilitate, and shape decision-making to meet needs that are pertinent to them. At this event, the young Black leaders who facilitated this process will present the new mental health service they have designed.

”This event was inspired by the Civic Hub model of putting communities at the heart of local decisions, and our trial unconference to address men’s mental health. “
