Multi-award winning poet Robin Robertson headlines London’s premier evening of poetry and live music, in its first gig at Southbank Centre.
Featuring comic poet Rob Auton and Next Generation Poet Jane Yeh, Out-Spoken is hosted by Joelle Taylor, with Sam ‘Junior’ Bromfield spinning the best in reggae, soul and R&B throughout the evening.
Robin Robertson is from the north-east coast of Scotland and has published a number of books including six works of poetry, previously receiving the E.M. Forster Award, the Petrarca-Preis and all three Forward Prizes.
His current book, The Long Take, won the Walter Scott Prize for historical fiction, the Goldsmiths Prize for innovative fiction and the Roehampton Poetry Prize; it was also shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
Rob Auton is a poet, comedian and performer who has performed eight five-star rated Edinburgh Fringe shows and has had three collections of writings and drawings published by Burning Eye Books.
He is one of the team behind the stand up poetry night Bang Said the Gun, and has been described by The Guardian as ‘A genuine original. Poetical, philosophical, humane, completely charming and funny to boot.’
Jane Yeh’s latest collection of poems, Discipline, was a Guardian Book of the Year and Poetry Book Society Recommendation in 2019. She was named a Next Generation Poet by the Poetry Book Society for her second collection, The Ninjas and her first collection, Marabou, was shortlisted for the Forward, Whitbread (now Costa), and Aldeburgh poetry prizes.
