Radical Justice – An Evening With Nani Jansen Reventlow

Wednesday 7th October 2026

Award-winning human rights lawyer and author Nani Jansen Reventlow comes to the Black Cultural Archives for a special Black History Month conversation exploring racial, social and economic justice and the possibilities for creating meaningful change.

In conversation with Dr Wanda Wyporska, CEO of Black Cultural Archives, Reventlow will discuss her book Radical Justice: Building the World We Need, which brings together ideas, strategies and examples for people seeking to challenge injustice and inequality.

An international human rights advocate specialising in strategic litigation, Reventlow has spent much of her career working at the intersection of human rights, racial justice, technology and freedom of expression. She is also the founder of Systemic Justice, an organisation focused on transforming the way the law works for communities fighting racial, social and economic inequality.

Radical Justice draws inspiration from generations of anti-racist and social justice thinkers while asking what individuals and communities can practically do when faced with entrenched systems of inequality.

The discussion will consider issues ranging from strategic litigation and digital rights to reparations, climate justice and collective action. Rather than presenting social change as something achieved only by governments or major institutions, the book examines the different spheres in which individuals can learn, organise and act.

Hosted by one of Britain’s most important institutions dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the histories of African and Caribbean people in Britain, the evening provides an opportunity to connect contemporary struggles for justice with the longer history of Black political thought and activism.

Signed copies of Radical Justice: Building the World We Need will be available to purchase after the event.

The event takes place at Black Cultural Archives in Brixton on Wednesday 7th October 2026 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
