Commemorating The Story Of Leicester Caribbean Windrush Communities In Leicester

Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE will be giving an inspirational talk to schoolchildren and the Leicester community on the positive impact of the Windrush generation, and their offspring, in the world of politics, business, music and food.

 

Community members have been involved in the development of Five Windrush Interpretation panels, which recognises the contributions the Windrush generation to British life and culture as well as celebrating the achievements of the Leicester Windrush community involved in this legacy.

An unveiling of the panels by Baroness Benjamin and other dignitaries will take place at the community event. Schools sessions for pre-invited schools.  Community spaces are limited.
