The first Black woman and the first Black British author to win the Booker Prize for her stunning novel Girl, Woman, Other, Manchester Literature Festival is thrilled to welcome Anglo-Nigerian writer Bernardine Evaristo for a special event to celebrate her new book Manifesto: On Never Giving Up.
Bernardine has spent three decades as a trailblazing writer, mentor and activist and Manifesto is her intimate and inspirational, no-holds-barred account of how she did it. Bernardine will discuss her ground-breaking work including her many brilliant novels (Mr Loverman, Blonde Roots), her poetry and her theatre dramas with fellow writer and MLF Patron Jackie Kay.
