Thu 27 September 2018 18:00 – 20:00

Don’t rush off, join our after-work get togethers.

Top tips, advice, technical know-how, photo ideas… and a glass of something cheery. Our series of informal chats are tailored to fit in with your busy lives. Travel Geeks: Rush Hour is just an hour long, and offers you the chance to hear from our experts, share a drink and join in the chat.

From the world-famous Kruger National Park and its multitude of creatures, to the lesser-known gems like western Etosha in Namibia — a safari is a lifelong dream for many. Whether you’re a first-timer yet to spot the Big 5 or are a seasoned safari-goer, this event is just for you. In association with Audley Travel, join our expert panel as we chat all things safari, from what to pack and where to go to how to get involved in conservation tourism. And here’s a little bit about what our expert panelists will be sharing on the night:

Jonny May, Africa product manager, Audley Travel
Jonny first went on safari at the age of 13 and has been hooked ever since, extensively exploring north, east and south Africa. His highlight has been driving an overland truck from Cape Town to Cairo. Jonny has worked in the Africa travel industry for nearly ten years and this has included training guides in Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa and Kenya. His favourite safari experiences generally involve walking in the bush or camping out in the wilderness.

Adele Cutler, director of Pindrop PR
Adele is the owner of Pindrop PR, building on a career of two decades in public relations, with the last six years promoting products across the whole of Africa. Having organised over 75 press trips for journalists and writers, she has particular expertise in the continent’s lesser-known destinations, such as Malawi, and primate trekking in Uganda and Rwanda.

Andy Skillen, photographer
Andy has been photographing wildlife since the age of seven, when he first got his hands on a camera. Since then he has been fortunate to travel the world in search of close-up encounters, primarily on foot, with not only the world’s most iconic, but also its less well-known species. Throughout Andy’s career, his work has been awarded and commended both nationally and internationally.
