Screening of Dancing Through Time and live music from Lisa Hendricks

Saturday 16 December

Join LW Arts CIC for the premier of their Nottingham-based mini-film, Dancing Through Time, and enjoy a live set from Lisa Hendricks, Nottingham’s very own Queen of Reggae!

We are proud to invite you to this very special event, where the premier of the mini-film Dancing Through Time will be screened. This has been a 6 month project, kindly supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, celebrating decades of dance at Claredon Chambers in Nottingham city centre, and the life and legacy of Miss Nora Morrison MBE, a well-loved dance teacher, who inspired many generations of dancers to pursue a lifelong passion for dance.

Local Historian, Mo Cooper, has led the project alongside a team of assistants, who have helped to track down ex-students of Morrison School of Dance, formerly based at Clarendon Chambers. Over the months, the project has uncovered a rich history of dancers in the building, spanning the 1920s to the present day. The school boasts a history of dance styles from all over the world, including West african dance, Indian bhangrea dance and Samba dance, as well as western forms of dance, such as ballet, jazz and contemporary.

The event will be attended by a group of special guests and will include light refreshments.
