Action for Trustee Racial Diversity: Engaging Black and Asian Network Organisations (BANOs) – database information session
Charities need to recruit and retain 10,000 more Black and Asian trustees by 2026 to bridge the 6% under- representation gap of people from Black and Asian backgrounds on charity trustee Boards in England and Wales. Only 8% of trustees are from Black and Asian backgrounds compared to the England and Wales population of 14%. Fewer than 3% are women of colour.
As part of our campaign objectives, we have developed a database of over 500 Black and Asian network organisations (BANOs) across sectors and across the UK. This resource provides an extensive list for charities to draw on in seeking to recruit Black and Asian trustees with the skills and experience they may be looking for.
