This forum brings together practitioners and activists who will discuss current practice in our mental health system and the initiatives to bring about sustainable change that will benefit Black people in our communities.

Malik Gul is the Director of Wandsworth Community Empowerment Network which works on the frontline of community-led early help and prevention.

Dr Donald Palmer is Co-Founder/Co-Director of Reach Society, an award-winning social enterprise which works with young people to reach fulfil their full potential.

Representative for SLaM / Justice for Seni Campaign – The campaign to end the use of excessive force against mental health patients, following the death of Olaseni Lewis in 2010 and several others since. The campaign has sponsored a bill which is currently before parliament.

Organised by Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, Croydon BME Forum, and Croydon Council Race Equality Network for Black History Month 2021.
