We are pleased to celebrate the Windrdush 75 Anniversary with a special live 90 min theatrical performance by the one and only much-loved Leicester actor, story-teller and writer, Victor Richards for this early evening performance which takes you through the story of one man’s experiences as a member of the Windrush arrivers in post-war Britain.
The performance is a completely engaging, enlightening and humerous journey into some of those challenges and experiences.
This play is one of Victor’s most popular performances. the music video of the title track ‘Streets Paved with Gold’ was nominated for the British Urban Film Festival Awards 2017 and in 2018, Victor received the BEFFTA (Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts) Legend Honour Award for his long contribution to the entertainment industry.
Streets Paved With Gold is a super immersive and informative play, suitable for the whole family. We would encourage diverse personnel, all generations, including elders, children and teenagers to come along and enjoy this interpretation, and share memories from this incredible celebration of the British black presence.
