Clem Seecharan is Emeritus Professor of Caribbean History at London Metropolitan. Born in East Berbice British Guiana, Clem is the distinguished author of several books including on cricket – Muscular Learning: Cricket and Education in the making of the British West Indies at the end of the 19th Century and, most recently in 2016 Hand-in Hand – History of Cricket in Guyana 1865 -1897. Volume 1 – The Foundation. Volume Two is currently being written.
Colin Babb is a writer who has worked for the BBC World Service as a Broadcast Journalist and Website Producer. He is a regular contributor to the Caribbean Intelligence website. Colin’s book, They Gave the Crowd Plenty Fun (Hansib), about West Indies cricket and the UK Caribbean diaspora was published in 2015. It explores the challenges to both and the historical and sociological perspectives. They Gave the Crowd Plenty Fun includes contributions from Lance Gibbs and Basil Butcher.
