BHM Film: Gone too Far

3 October 2018

A British film not about white Cockney gangsters makes for a nice change, and this debut comedy from Destiny Ekaragha is a fresh and light-hearted look at modern urban life.

Two estranged teenage brothers meet for the first time, and struggle to accept each other for who they are.  Yemi can’t wait for his big brother to join him on the estate in Peckham, but when Ikudayisi arrives from Nigeria wearing socks and sandals Yemi questions both his judgement and his African heritage. A day on the estate filled with danger and excitement teaches both of them the values of family and self-respect.

As part of Serendipity’s year round programme celebrating Black History Month every day, BHM Film brings together a collection of thought provoking documentaries and independent cinema.

Dir: Destiny Ekaragha
