BHM16: Brixton Walk

10:30am-1pm, Free, Meet at Herne Hill Station (Market Entrance)

Did you know that the first black female broadcaster at the BBC lived in Camberwell? Or that the first documented interracial marriage took place in Southwark in 1770?
Passing through Lambeth to Brixton, discover the evolution of culture of the area through talks and activities about local musicians, artists and political activists. The walk will end at The Black Cultural Archives in Windrush Square, Brixton, to visit their collection and have lunch in the café.
Find out more about Southwark’s Black History and explore what it means to you, on this historical walk. Here at CoolTan Arts we believe that walking is one of the best ways to improve your wellbeing.
