Windrush & Migrations – Opera in Concert

Sunday 22nd June 2026

Pegasus Opera Company presents Windrush & Migrations – Opera in Concert at Lambeth Town Hall, marking Windrush Day 2026 with an evening of music reflecting on migration, identity and heritage.

The performance brings together excerpts from Migrations by Will Todd and Windrush Opera by Des Oliver and Edson Burton, exploring the journeys and experiences of Caribbean communities and wider migration stories. Through a blend of contemporary composition and classical performance, the programme offers a thoughtful interpretation of history through music.

Performed by Pegasus Opera Company, an organisation dedicated to championing artists of African and Caribbean heritage, the concert features a collaboration with the Brixton Chamber Orchestra. The programme also includes additional works that complement the central themes, creating a layered and engaging musical experience.

Presented in Brixton, an area deeply connected to the history of the Windrush generation, the performance offers both cultural resonance and historical reflection in a civic setting.
