Celebrate Caribbean women’s voices at an intimate evening of Saint Lucian film, poetry and creative conversation, followed by a participatory workshop exploring inheritance and resilience.
Marking Creole Heritage Month, Black History Month and the International Day of Rural Women, An Intimate Night of Tropical Theatre brings together Caribbean stories from Saint Lucia and across the diaspora.
The curated film programme includes the UK premieres of Fanm Diviné (Women of Divinity) and Kay-la ka Koulé (The House Is Leaking), alongside What Is Common About the Wealth? and the award-winning Roots of Resilience.
Following the screenings, audiences are invited to take part in an interactive creative workshop exploring inheritance, resilience and recreation. What have we inherited? What are we carrying forward? How can we use it to shape our communities and the wider world?
The evening is presented by Twossaints, a cultural education platform connecting the Caribbean diaspora to home through language, arts and cultural experiences, and Tropical Theatre, a multidisciplinary arts and education company championing Caribbean stories through theatre, film, poetry and performance.
