Over the summer, Verbalise brought together group of amazing young spoken word artists who worked with some of biggest names in the industry (Zena Edwards, John Berkavitch, Rachel Long and Cecillia Knapp) to hone their skills as poets.

Beatfreeks and YAY16 are hugely proud to present this showcase of their work.

Please join us for drinks and to see our young stars perform a peice they produced in response to their work at Verbalise.

Polarbear needs no introduction!

A leading figure in the scene, Polarbear is a Brummie native and will be joining us to share his unique brand of hip-hop informed storytelling. His tales of a man trying to work things out are not to be missed!

Caleb Femi – SXWKS

Caleb Femi is a Roundhouse Poetry Slam prize winner and has exhibited two cross-arts show ‘Still Dreaming’ at the Edinburgh Fringe and ‘There Is A Place’ at the Camden People’s Theatre.

“Caleb’s sets deliver autobiographical poems that explore themes of love, identity and trauma cushioned with nostalgic musical elements and sampled voices from influential figures in his life”

Caleb is part of the Six Weeks collective.
