Healing Ourselves, Healing the World – engaging with the climate and ecological crisis

A workshop exploring Capacitar International’s new Climate Manual ‘Empowering Strength and Resilience’ – with a focus on climate activism.

Capacitar’s mission is to heal ourselves and heal our world. Capacitar teaches body-based practices that empower people to address injustice and build peace in their families and communities.

The name “Capacitar” means to awaken, to encourage, to bring each other to life.

Led by Ali Newell, former chaplain at Edinburgh University and Capacitar workshop leader, this two hour workshop will introduce participants to some basic body-based practices for sustaining their engagement with the climate and ecological crisis.

Additional themes to be explored:

  • Capacitar’s commitment to supporting climate activists
  • Capacitar’s practices to accompany communities impacted by climate change
  • Capacitar responses to eco-anxiety and climate depression

The workshop is free but donations are encouraged. Donations will be ear-marked to support future A+E programming and the Pilgrimage for COP26 specifically.

Hard copies or digital versions of Capacitar International’s new Climate Manual ‘Empowering Strength and Resilience’ will be made available to participants at the workshop.
