Lilian: the Film and the Message from Cathy Tyson

Golden Globes and BAFTA nominee (1986) and BAFTA winner (2022) Cathy Tyson and Brown Girl Films present the short film ‘Lilian’. The film is about Lilian Bader (1918 – 2015) who was the first black woman to serve in the RAF. In the short bittersweet film, what is Lilian’s message? And what is Cathy’s?

 

‘Lilian’ won the Grand Prize for Best Screenplay at the Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival in 2022.

‘Lilian’ will be screened at multiple times and locations across the borough on the day, followed by a Q&A discussion held at Hornsey Library, commencing at 7pm.
