Journey Through Life: The story of the Windrush

Now Until Saturday 14th October

Journey Through Life is the culmination of a community led project, which celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the Windrush generation, as part of Lowewood Museum’s Lottery Funded Project Your Heritage, Your Museum, and with support from Windrush 75.

Local residents and have embarked on a project to engage with the community to curate an exhibition bringing together memories and artefacts. It is filled with reminiscences, highs and lows, and the impact of the journey travelled by the Windrush generation and their descendants.

“This exhibition charts the story of some of the Caribbeans living within Broxbourne. It has been a steep but interesting learning curve. Our aims with this project have been to disseminate information via education, work to overcome discrimination and celebrate the achievements of the children of the Windrush.”

Until 14th October 2023 (open Fridays and Saturday only 10-4.30pm)
