Black Lives Matter – New Acquisitions

Showcasing new works that touch on the theme of assumptions and stereotypes, identity and society and add significantly to the service holdings of works by, and depicting, Black people.

 

They are the first works in Leicester Museum and Art Gallery’s collection that respond to and reflect the Black Lives Matter movement and their purchase demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that the collection is representative of the city’s diverse residents and is responsive to current events.
