Brazil to Manchester: A Journey Through Capoeira

Monday 26th till Friday 30th October 2015

During October half term young people will be invited to take part in a series of cultural workshops based on the Afro Brazillian Martial art of Capoeira. Using the different elements of Capoeria the partcipants will learn to play Capoeira, developing the skills to perform this visually distinct art.

They will make African instruments and learn how to play them, sing in Portugese and create art work to celebrate the vibrant culture and heritage of Brazil. In partnership with Capoeira Manchester we will link with children from Belo Horizonte – Minas Gerais and share their experiences of the week.

Z-arts, 335 Stretford Road, Hulme, Manchester M15 5ZA. 10am-12pm.
