Your chance to sample the black presence in three of the public national art collections London:

    • The National Gallery
    • Tate Britain
    • Wallace Collection

You will be shown examples of how that black presence changed over time from objects or subjects of economic capital in the sixteenth to creators to definers of cultural capital in the twenty first century.

You will be introduced to some of the many different works of art revealing the religious, cultural and social significance of the black presence – some times explicit and open, other sometimes implicit and hidden.

The black presence from subjects of economic capital to creators of cultural capital; musicians, kings, slaves, servants, saints and artists, sometimes just as people.

This is the free introduction to the two hour webinars for each of the galleries for details and dates of the Image of the Black Eventbrite Page
