Starting Up: How to build your tech business

If you’re looking to get started or progress with your business, join and engage with peers, existing founders and experts, join our Online Jam and prepare to be inspired!

You’ll hear from Richard Awoyemi, CEO and Founder at Opsonion, and understand his own entrepreneurial journey and have a chance to ask questions.

We’ll then be joined by our three fantastic breakout room facilitators – mentors and leaders – with the opportunity to share your business ideas and get feedback and advice on how to progress to the next stage.

In this jam we welcome Rahmon Agbaje, serial entrepreneur and part of the Venture Team at Founders Factory; and ‘Ultrapreneur’ Julian Hall, Founder of Ultra Education.

We’ll finish up with an action plan session to consolidate all of your learnings and help you to put your thoughts into practical and actionable steps that you can take over the next two weeks. The event will be hosted by Claudine Adeyemi from UK Black Tech.

Speakers

Richard Awoyemi, CEO and Founder at Opsonion

Richard Awoyemi is the CEO and founder of Opsonion, a platform that’s like Canva for websites. He aims to empower the community by helping people to build online products faster, cheaper and simpler than ever before. He is also a qualified Actuary and runs a consultancy – providing financial modelling expertise and programming support to companies. Previously, he worked as a Senior Consultant for a fintech startup. He helped to grow both the business and the team rapidly for three years. Richard is also a husband and father to two young girls.

Rahmon Agbaje, Entrepreneur, Gen Z Consultant and International Speaker

Rahmon works across the intersection of technology, culture and creativity. Aged 18, whilst in university he built a music tech company, helping the company raise £2m in seed funding. Rahmon now sits on the Venture team at Founders Factory and on the board for Capital Enterprise’s Onetech, helping London’s most innovative diverse founders gain access to funding and networks whilst sharing his story as a speaker.

Julian Hall, Founder of Ultra Education

Featured on Forbes, Julian ‘The Ultrapreneur’ Hall is the founder of a four-year-old social enterprise called Ultra Education which has been successfully teaching entrepreneurship to primary and secondary school children from disadvantaged backgrounds. He’s co-written three degrees in entrepreneurship and launched the UK’s first mobile game for kids entrepreneurship. A recently elected freeman of the Guild of Entrepreneurs and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Julian is currently developing the world’s first artificial intelligence chatbot that can teach entrepreneurship to kids and teens.
