Working among Racial Difference on Colonized Land: Strengthening Cultural Competency in our Organizations

Working safely and respectfully among racial and cultural difference is critical for nonprofit organizations. Recently, the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Inquiry and movements like Idle No More and Black Lives Matter have helped us more fully understand and acknowledge the presence of racism and colonization in our country, cities and organizations. They also inspire us to work for change. Strengthening Organizational Cultural Competency is one way organizations can be active in dismantling racism and building cultural safety within their organizations and the broader communities.

United Way’s Learning Centre is pleased to partner with Jackie Hogue of J. Hogue and Associates to bring you the workshop, Working among Racial Difference on Colonized Land: Strengthening Cultural Competency in our Organizations. This interactive, three-session workshop is designed for Executive Directors, managers, and program staff of non-profit organizations.
