An evening of conversation with poet Yomi Sode to celebrate his landmark collection about the lives of Black British men and boys
Join Yomi Sode for an evening of readings and conversation to celebrate Manorism, his landmark collection of poems about the lives of Black British men and boys.
Textured, beautifully-written, Yomi’s poems are highly original examinations of contemporary masculinity, written with powerful contrast of light and shade, joy and pain.
Yomi Sode received the Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowship in 2019 and was shortlisted for the Brunel International African Poetry Prize in 2021. Coat, his one-man show, toured nationally. His play and breathe… premiered at the Almeida Theatre in 2021. Manorism is his debut collection of poems.
A host for this event will be announced shortly. The conversation will be followed by audience Q&A and a book signing. Doors open from 6:45pm.
